The Building Security Council (BSC) was a not-for-profit professional organization headquartered in Reston, Virginia that aimed to improve the security of state, municipal, and privately owned buildings.〔U.S. Federal projects have building security programs, but much information is classified and therefore unavailable to private and other government sectors.〕 The council was established in November 2005 by the and later disbanded in 2010. The certification program (BSCP) was transferred to Civil Engineering Certification, Inc.
